Early Childhood Education II

This is the 3rd course in our Early Childhood Education Career Pathway.  Also, this is a transcripted credit course with Blackhawk Technical College.

To qualify for the 3 credits from Blackhawk Technical College,  students must:

*  Have a credit standing of a junior or senior

*  Attend 85% of the required class periods

*  Receive at least a "B" grade average in this course

Course Requirements

1)  Keep a 3-ring binder in class.  This notebook will be collected three times during this course and it will be graded on the contents as well as the organization of it.  A journal entry for each module is required.  Journals are a paragraph summarizing what you learned in that module.

2)  Good attendance is very important.  To meet the attendance requirement for State of Wisconsin licensing, you may not miss more than six days.  Attendance is very important if you want to qualify for the state Assistant Child Care Teacher license.

3)  Be prompt to class.  If you arrive, late you must serve a 15 minute detention before or after school.  This tardy policy goes along with the attendance requirement for the State of Wisconsin.

4)  Turn work in on time.  This is a college course.  Late work will only be accepted up to one week after the due date and be aware that late work may not receive full points for that assignment.

5)  Final Semester Project must be completed on or before the due date.  It will not be accepted after the due date.

Grading Scale

A = 90-100

B = 80-89

C = 70-79

D = 60-69

F = 59 or below

Formative assessments = 40% of your grade

Summative assessments = 60% of your grade

Please keep in mind...

It is possible to pass this course for BMHS, yet not qualify for the Department of Public Instruction Assistant Child Care Teacher License or the BTC credit.  You must meet the strict attendance and grade requirements.
